Review # 1 was written on 2017-11-11 00:00:00 Girlie Viray "The Marriage Quest" is the story of Jared and Henrietta. Basically, Henrietta is renting a house in a remote country area to get over the death of her crazy husband- something which traumatized her- until the owner is thrown off a horse and lands at her doorstep. While for Jared it is instant attraction, Henrietta feels the sparks too which frightens her, already having escaped an obsessive-stalkerish husband. The story then spans across months, where the hero gently tries to pursue and woo the heroine, never crossing boundaries and the heroine pushing him away without giving a reason, yet being jealous of anything that comes near him. Needless to say, did not like the heroine- I felt bad for what the psycho ex had done but that should not have translated to her being mean to the hero. Im glad the heroes are persistent in HB novels, because the heroines certainly don't cut them any slack and behave like a stubborn child. Safe 2.5/5
