Ooof. So, so awful. I tried Phillips's Serendipity first and wasn't a fan. Gave this one a shot and so sorry I did. 1. The writing for the kids? No. I've been a precocious child. That dialogue? Bad. 2. A shy publicist? Working for "the top sports management agency" in the country? Do we not understand what being a publicist means? No. 3. Riley kept describing Sophie as classy, but unless the definition of classy is "uncomfortable with flirting and doesn't swear", I didn't see it. Not that there's anything wrong with not swearing or being classy, but the two are not equivalent. 4. I did laugh when I found the mentions of her older sister's child. As one reviewer mentions, the child is a boy then becomes a girl at the end of the book. The characters were worse than poorly drawn; they were inconsistent. I should have quit the book, but I kept going, not because I thought it'd get better but because I had nothing else new on my Kindle. I think this author is NMS.

Sebastians sisters are a hoot. Those ladies cracked me up. And I loved how Riley took everything in stride. Well almost everything, his real dad he had a hard time with. Sophie is very uptight. She uses boxes to separate her world and lives under a tight control I think due to her loss of parents at a young age. These two are opposites but alike as well. both afraid to let someone in and both afraid to let go of the past. Riley though is more live and let live in his attitude except when it comes to Sebastian. Sophie needs control and order. Opposites that are strongly attracted and help the other. Sophie helps Riley see he needs to mature more-with his daughter and real dad. He needs to see that there are reasons things happen and giving people chances to explain can help him move on. when it comes to his daughter, she helps him see that she is spoiled and needs to have a parent and not just a friend. i hated to see Sophie push Riley away. I also hated to see Rileys stepdad be the way he was. How he treated Sebastian was wrong to me. I felt for Sebastian in this book. He sacrificed so much for Riley and it was hard to see him honor his sons wish. In the end though we do see a bridge get offered, a daughter grow up and a love come to fruition even though it was a bumpy ride to get there. Such a fun book seeing two people come out of their comfort zone and find love.
