The Bridesmaids Proposal by Rebecca Winters Due to her Aunt, Reese had been enjoying a two-year run on a very popular soap opera, playing her Aunts daughter on the show. But her aunt has passed away, and Reese is finding it ever more difficult playing her part as she is in love with Alex, the man who is playing her lover on the show. Shes knows that Alex is in love with a mysterious woman and that though hes fond of her, he really isnt interested in her that way. So on the last day of taping the script calls for Reeses character to spontaneously ask Alexs character to marry him just as they are about to enter the Church for Alexs characters father. The scene runs with the two characters saying their vows and signing the licenses. When its over Reese endures her goodbye party, and is taken totally by surprise when Alex kisses her very passionately. Shes confused, was that kiss in character or for real; it sure was real on her part! This story didnt suffer because of page count. Ms. Winters did a great job of creating two wonderful main characters. The wedding scene was very well done. The switch Alex had pulled off seemed a bit over the top, but this is a romance and Im willing to go with the flow on this one. I enjoyed this one very much. The Billionaires Blind Date by Jessica Hart Nell and PJ had been a couple in high school and became engaged when PJ, a year older went off to college. And when Nell went off to college too, it seemed they were drifting apart. Nell wanted to get married and start a family; PJ wanted to establish himself a bit first. So when Simon came along, he was gorgeous and charming and wanted to give Nell everything she wanted, she was swept off her feet. Well, its 14 years later, and Nells divorced raising her 10 year old daughter, Clara, alone. PJs spent much of the last years in the US and hes now very successful and made his billions. PJs back in the London, and Nells sister is insisting that she get in tough with him, ditto for PJs sister. Neither is sure they want to open old wounds. But one very eventful day it seems that the fates have their own ideas for these two. Oh this was a lovely read. I really liked the way Ms. Hart blended the back story in with the present. We get to see both PJ and Nells inner turmoil and regrets for the past. I found it charming that both felt all tongued tied and yet to the other they appeared all put together and assured. This tiny story reads long. Well done!

This book was surprisingly good, though let down by the convenient case of the daughter remembering her mother even though she was 2 1/2 when they were separated, then having absolutely no issue with the fact that her father had raised her upon a lie and apparently having no questions to ask other than 'where were you?' even after the half answer given. The ending was a bit annoying too, but then again - this IS Mills and Boon I'm reviewing here. Four stars from me :)
