FTC DISCLAIMER: I RECEIVED AN E-ARC FROM THE PUBLISHER THROUGH LITRING READERS. I VOLUNTARILY OFFER MY HONEST REVIEW OF THE BOOK, THOUGH IT IS NOT EXPECTED OF ME! RECEIPT OF THIS BOOK IN THIS MANNER DOES NOT AFFECT MY OPINION OF THE BOOK OR THE CONTENT OF MY REVIEW! I'd never heard of this author before, but I was actually pleasantly surprised by this story! I thought it was rather cute, and loved Hannah's desire to become a rancher's wife, fully realizing that it was hard work that she wasn't really suited for at the time. Wyatt was a great tortured hero, and I loved watching actually fall for Hannah and Ian. I loved the idea of meddling male matchmakers, it was a unique twist on the matchmaker premise! It definitely made me eager to read more in this universe!

This is a story about Wyatt Malone and Hannah Richmond. Wyatt Malone is a widower and had lost not only his wife but his baby son. Hannah had married a man who turned out to be a cruel cheater and thought only about his career and other women. He had nothing to do with the son she bore him and now she was pregnant with a little girl. A week after telling her husband she was pregnant for the second time he left the country with his main mistress and went to Jamaica. A week later she had been delivered divorce papers. Hannah had an adorable four-year-old son, Ian, who quickly fell in love with Wyatt. He had never had a father figure around and he thought Wyatt hung the moon. Wyatt thought the same about the little boy. I just wanted to reach into the book and hug this little stuttering boy whose father had abandoned him and his mother so cruelly. Some of the old men in Wyatt's town were afraid their city was dying so what could they do to bring life back to their hometown? Bring in the women who would marry the locals and have their babies, of course! So they filled out Wyatt's name on an ad for a mail order bride and he had no idea until she arrived. He was determined throughout the book that he would never love again because it was too painful. The problems I had with the story: I'm not fond of reading a book about a widow or widower when they are still grieving their loved one even though it had been four years ago. Nor do I like it when a story moves slowly in places which I felt this one did. I did not mark the story down for the dead wife since I knew going in but decided to read it anyway. Overall, it was a good read. Not sure if I will continue series.
