You'd think with that front cover it would be set in, oh say, Victorian times well you are certifiably wrong. Plus Samantha is a redhead. What a misleading cover. Anyway... I think it's set in the 1990s(??) with Samantha actually not a damsel-in-distress but a cop. Nice. Strong lass, gutsy gal who just happens to gets tangled up with a rich, useless playboy. It's not a bad story. Towards the end I did like the side characters more (whom I have forgotten the names, the sister-in-law and the aunt. They make an awesome mischievous duo). The ending was lame.
