So the first chapter throws you into a parallel universe where Miss Libby Madison is celebrating her thirty-fifth birthday with her two best girlfriends and dwelling on the past. So in the next chapter we find that Libby is given a second chance at a different life with children that she regrets not adopting when she had the chance. Libby has gone back to the future like the film where she has a chance to correct the past and her regrets. But things are not as she had assumed so long ago, she will have to share the children with Mr. Jared Ransom because he is the godfather to the children and was best friends with their parents. I did like that Libby tries to sabatoge the relationship between Jared and the children in the beginning. It is natural that she immediately tries to plan to take the children for herself, but then has to adapt as she sees that Jared is a good person and a sexy single guy too. The usual follows afterward and I did love the brother Darren and Justine's crazy modern romance which kept me interested in the obvious story that was unrolling. Darren/Justine was hilarious. 248 pages and published by Harlequin in their American Romance series 2 stars

It started off with a great plot. And the story did go well up to a certain point. Towards the end, everything is rushed up and it looked like as if the author was initially writing in her own sweet pace and suddenly realized that this ought to be a shorter story and bang! started to wind up in a hurry. But the supposedly ultimate twist in the end, that is the future was all a dream and there was no time travel after all, turned out to be the ultimate downfall (according to me). It looked like a desperate attempt to either save all the lengthy explanations required to make the story whole or to bring about a twist in tale. To sum up, "The Comeback mom" doesn't really inspire one to come back and read it once again.
