Review # 1 was written on 2013-01-02 00:00:00 Mike Huthmaker Jackie Weger's A Country Christmas is an old fashioned type fairy tale story full of love and miracles. First you have the feud between the Jacksons and the Rutledges, something that has been going on for over thirty years. Next you have Slater Rutledge a man that's come home for private reasons, who ends up with his late brother's two children to care for. Let's not forget our heroine the lovely widow, Kaley who is taking care of her husband's Grandfather, Independent, who has quite an attachment for his mule Flossie. What I liked about the book: The characters were all so lovable. The author used a lot of humor, especially when there was friction between the hero and heroine. There are times when you laugh and others when you want to cry in this story. I loved how real the characters came across as. What I didn't like: The mysterious illness that seemed to be cured by love. The only reason this worked in the story was that it was a Christmas story and miracles are supposed to happen. However it was a bit unbelievable. All in all this was a wonderful story for the holidays.

Review # 2 was written on 2014-03-31 00:00:00 Dmitry Ter-ovanesyan Jackie Weger is a wonderful writer and, A Country Christmas, is delightful. The story is excellent, the setting so vivid, you want to go there immediately. Jackie's hero and heroine are intelligent, funny and original; her secondary characters are brilliantly drawn - and therein lies her talent. I first read this book some years ago, have had the pleasure of re-reading it recently, and I can guarantee: this is top notch romance writing!
