Review # 1 was written on 2010-05-22 00:00:00 Roy Bampton I read the book that came before this and enjoyed that one too. Even though this is a formulaic category, with a too sweet and innocent heroine, I really enjoyed it. |
Review # 2 was written on 2016-11-09 00:00:00 Tran Eldridge Rich, sheltered girl runs away from overprotective parents to prove she can survive on her own. She finds employment as housekeeper to a widower and nanny to his young daughter. The heroine and daughter share instant rapport but ordinary chores took more time to master as the heroine keeps on getting mishaps with household items like microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and vacuum cleaner. Typically, Im immune to a relationship between unequal couple (i.e., boss/secretary) but theres something sleazy about the way the hero, a doctor by profession, arranged an assignation with his young housekeeper over the Christmas holiday. He had his little daughter conveniently stay with her grandparents so they could have private time alone. Even they recognized the situation as tawdry afterwards and didnt know how to explain it to the daughter. It seemed to me that just like with the mad holiday shopping season, buyers remorse sets in too after the rutting season. |
