This was a really nice oldie by Anne McAllister that I had wanted to read for a long time especially because I had read the books that came after this. Our heroine is an author who lives in rural Vermont on a farm. She is happy the way her life is and doesn't miss the city life. You see she was married for three years and has been divorced for 5 from a man for whom she was never good enough. So her marriage has left scars. The hero is the cover model she picked out for her new book but she never thought he would land up on her front desk. The hero is a good looking guy who doesn't have to work hard with women, but with the heroine he has to. He finds himself unable to forget her and keeps coming back even when she ignores him. This is a totally hero driven romance with the heroine not letting down her barriers till the very end. Hell even when they get physically involved and he proposes, she breaks up with him. It was nice seeing a role reversal.
