Review # 1 was written on 2019-06-08 00:00:00 Ken Luong The heroine lets EVERYONE ride roughshod over her: The OM who is pushing her into moving in with him to make his mistress jealous; The mistress who warns her off: Even landlady's horrid daughter who turns her out of her own bedsit; and of course the hero who slut-shames her from beginning to end even as he is elbow deep under her skirt. YUCK!!! |
Review # 2 was written on 2021-04-15 00:00:00 Michael Garren I don't typically review textbooks because... well, they're textbooks; school books; informational books; not terribly interesting books. But this one gets to be the exception. Especially in contrast with the actual Psychology course I took, this book was fantastic. The words flow, difficult concepts are made easy, and amusing, relatable, real-life examples are present in every page—Myers even describes some personal anecdotes of his from time to time. And I loved the cartoons (most are from The New Yorker) that illustrate each topic. On point. I recommend this to anyone who wants to get to know the basics of psychology while still enjoying quality reading. |
