Beautiful setting, decent plot, acceptable characters, intriguing suspense.

Ah, now I understand. I didn't know until after I read this book that it was originally published in 1988. So that explains the angsty stupid plot. This book and these characters made little sense to me. Why Amy made many of the choices she did made no sense. Why Nick just sat back and was so passive in his own family made little sense. A story that hinges on one misunderstanding that could be cleared up with one mature conversation made little sense. I guess that's the biggest issue. Everything they do is selfish and immature. Triple was cute and he should've been the main priority and loyalty in both their lives. This book was a mess.
