Review # 1 was written on 2012-10-16 00:00:00 Thamnakrit Wongchai When I first looked for Jackie Braun's books, the blurb for this novella caught my attention but I had been putting it off for some reason. Tonight, I suddenly had the urge to read it and to my dismay the first paragraphs contained some words that I didn't like. They pointed to infidelity and I don't like reading about affairs no matter how great the reviews are, it just doesn't sit well with me. I want my hero and heroine to be both single, no matter what their commitment issues are. So, before I plunged into the story, I scoured the internet for a review, any review that would let me have a glimpse into the story, some spoilers maybe. Unfortunately, no one had a review that was more than a line or two at most. I decided then that it can't be so bad given that I've liked Jackie's stories so far. I wasn't disappointed. :) This was an emotion-packed novella that, while I was a little bit annoyed with the heroine at first (though, it's more of recognizing the same behavior in myself), the rest of the story was simply beautiful. The depth of feeling the hero had, the depth of the heroine's insecurities, had me feeling raw. And while it's unnerving, the fact that the story made me feel that way is better than most other novellas I've read. Moral of the story: Talk. Openly and without accusation. Recommended read. :)
