Review # 2 was written on 2011-08-04 00:00:00 Thomas Heyde 3 Stars In the mood for a short, simple romance today. Have read very little of it, so picked up a Harlequin to occupy a few hours time. The plot is a good one with layers of controversy - however, it's kept at a smaller star scale because I felt the author could have dealt a little more tension in the scenes for longer times. Just a personal preference, but I greatly prefer romances such as this where the issue is the heroines since we're in her head, and also the man is the pursuer. Cameron may have said all book he didn't want marriage, and the reason explained was a good, plausible one, but his open personality toward the heroine the entire book about other relationships and compassion/caring for her were a mixed bag. It was a bit too generic to rate higher, but still enjoyable, not completely predictable, and worth a read. Sensuality was pretty low. Heroine quite likeable, hero also but a little duller than the usual.
