Review # 1 was written on 2018-02-08 00:00:00 Duncan Peters Finally, a Harlequin that didn't make me want to tear out my own eyeballs! I knew I was onto a winner when Diana sprayed David in the face with mace on their first meeting. What a meet cute! They hated each other for about 50% of the book and I absolutely ate it up. This was sweet, with just the right amount of drama and misunderstanding and most importantly, lots of KISSING. Oh, the kissing! Lots of plundering of mouths going on here. Reow. There's no described sexy times in this book but I actually quite enjoyed the slow burn of this cat-dog relationship and the way that David proclaimed his love before Diana did. I could have done with a bit more grovelling at the end there, though. He was a mad dickhead at the end and I wouldn't have forgiven him quite as easily as Diana did. Some of my favourite scenes were when David jumped into the ocean to "save" Diana while he was still wearing pants and was then really grumpy about it. And the bit where he brushed her hair while they lay in the sun was really quite lovely. All in all, a sweet story that has renewed my faith in Harlequins. 3 Stars
