This story is about a Newfoundland kitemaker heroine who falls instantly in love with the tycoon who is engaged to the local politician's socialite daughter. Naturally, our heroine is fully in denial. She masks her true feelings, even to herself, and makes herself believe that she hates the hero because he is turning her favorite kite-flying field into a helicopter airport. But I couldn't care less about the plot because I was SO fascinated by the heroine's fashion choices. Like her yellow jumpsuit paired with gleaming white go go boots and ivory bangles from wrist to elbow. Then she fluffs out her head of wildly uncontrollable, short, windblown, tight, red curls. I suppose the look is supposed to evoke bohemian chic with a dash of sexiness but what I got was Ronald McDonald falling on hard times and exchanging his clown shoes for stripper boots. Then there was the outfit which she dons for a date with the limp lettuce leaf OM for dinner and dancing at Newfoundland's hottest nightspot: A shimmery green mini dress with sheer green panty hose belted with a chain of silver discs. Please, take a moment to close your eyes and regale your mind with this outfit. Slutty Leprechaun Halloween costume or Lord of the Dance? I will let you decide.
