Review # 1 was written on 2016-08-09 00:00:00 Rob Gardiner [ In this corporate world, the H takes his secretary out to dinner at a night club where they meet their respective exes - who are married to each other. The h is thrilled to see her OM no longer has power over her and she is finally glad he dumped her. The H is convinced the h is threatening the marriage of his childhood OW and he warns her off. The OM is a toad and keeps trying to get the heroine to meet with him alone to talk about his problems. This is where the h is TSL - she does meet him and makes the hero suspicious. Meanwhile, the OW steals some corporate plans to make the h look bad. The hero puts in a bid on the same project as the OW's company and he loses out. The OW tells the hero that the h must have sold or given the papers to her husband. The H buys this hook line and sinker. He changes the locks on the office, fires the h from her job, but won't let her leave until he's sure she hasn't stolen any other plans. There's a lot of moping around on h's part. The H hears her cry out one night and comes to her to comfort her and then he accuses her of using her attractions to get out of trouble. Finally, the other shoe drops. The OW tries to use another set of plans, but the H has modified them and her bid doesn't work. He sends the h away, now that he knows all the plans have been accounted for. The H's sister makes the h come back to work for her in Wellington. The H finds out the truth and apologizes. Heroine misunderstands who he loves - doesn't figure it out until she confesses her love in the resignation letter to his sister - which he reads. HEA. (hide spoiler)] |
