Along with always fascinating killers like Crippen (wife buried in the cellar), Major Armstrong ("dandelion" poisoner) and the notorious Kray brothers, this is also an interesting history of Scotland Yard's Murder Squad.

Originally published 1979, and you can tell. Not bad, though, for a brief memoir of the history of the Met's Murder Squad.
