Review # 1 was written on 2018-01-30 00:00:00 John Macmillan I love fonts and their history. I expected to love this book. I couldn't get past the third page, and even getting there was a struggle (I skipped the front matter, so that's the third page of the first essay). The prose is totally opaque. I kept putting it down and coming back and thinking it would grab me. Nope. There are many delightful books on fonts out there, but this was not one of them for me. |
Review # 2 was written on 2017-03-10 00:00:00 Tim Morneau Clever, scathing stuff that reflects what is probably the opinion of many people of the operation of democratic Westminster bicameral systems parliaments. Enjoy with a good laugh, masking annoyance at the inefficiencies of free government. |
