Available in Open Library. I liked the note from the illustrator. This was unpublished during Bontemps' lifetime... maybe it should have remained so because maybe he didn't get a chance to revise/ improve it enough to publish. I got so bored of the descriptions of heaven that as soon as I found that there are still washerwomen in heaven I skipped to the end, even though it's short (the last several pages are author bio.). I do still want to find another story by this early African-American children's writer and poet.

I did not like this book, hardly at all. I didn't feel like it flowed well and I sometimes got lost when reading it, and if I got lost reading it then I know a kid would get confused reading it. I couldn't really find an educational reason for using it but it had a good ending to it. It would allow a kid to use their imagination and fantasize about heaven.
