Review # 1 was written on 2020-09-13 00:00:00 Jon Bitton Same goes for this book...it's not a book you read once, then put away. It is helpful in my day to day learning the oboe. Starting at age 70 to learn such a difficult wind instrument is a challenge. I've been at it for two years now and still enjoying the process of getting better and improving. So it's time to put this book away too....

Review # 2 was written on 2007-07-08 00:00:00 Jerry Dunavant A fantastic illustrated historical reference of the world's instrumental traditions and western classical music. I was disappointed on the section devoted to the banjo, but considering the amount of material covered this encyclopedia is still a valuable source.
