Review # 1 was written on 2010-08-09 00:00:00 Sarah Mccormick This book seems to be one of a series of books about magical ponies. Our oldest read this one all by herself; her very first chapter book that she read on her own from cover to cover. I read it too, just out of curiosity. Since I wasn't reading it aloud, it was an extremely quick read. The story was suspenseful, but pretty trite and predictable. The illustrations were simple, small and black and white and I was surprised that the protagonist was depicted so plainly. I didn't like the story too much, but our oldest loved it, so I averaged it out. Besides, I couldn't diss her first book too badly. She is eager to read the other books in the series, but I'll likely pass.
