Whilst the book indeed at first glance appear to be a recipe book about ancient Tibetan medicine which, to my mind, my be likened to the well known 19th century Lennon medicine cabinet with its instruction manual, reading more like a vegetarian version of a voodoo spell book, I was pleasantly surprised at the personal relevancy the remainder if the content surprised me with. Suffering from depression and anxiety all since childhood. Whilst my Christian upbringing exacerbated my anxious existence up to then, this read demolished the dodgy dogma of mea culpa that fact damaged most people who are still being subjected to religions premised upon fear. With a new improved sense of self, I now do not find myself lost on that crooked and hazardous road to heaven as I now understand that I am in heaven here and now living in the moments between space and time where love, respect and compassion for all living things is the key to happiness.

This book was an interesting look at the ancient art of living as espoused by the Tibetans. While there is some good advice here that would surely be helpful in becoming wise in body, mind and soul, you have to wade through a lot of positive visualization in order to get there. In the end, there wasn't anything particularly new or exciting here.
