Review # 1 was written on 2012-08-17 00:00:00 Susan Mallcott This is a pretty good (if somewhat dated) book for teaching how to read poetry--a lot here I could use in class. Some strong discussions about aspects of poetry, but better are the sections about "critics" responding to poems--including a group of students.

Review # 2 was written on 2015-04-19 00:00:00 Matthew Barton Each short poem in this collection focuses on the characteristics of a different animal. The poems provide a humorous take on each animal and are accompanied by different illustration. The book would be appropriate to share as a read aloud with children between three and five years old. Older children may enjoy reading it independently.
