Review # 1 was written on 2016-03-27 00:00:00 Blase Sorritelli Un livre dédié à la Révolution russe, avec force détails et images (dessins + photographies). L'ouvrage, bien que rédigé avant la dislocation de l'URSS, me semble aujourd'hui encore pertinents et historiquement correct, l'auteur étant un spécialiste de la Russie (il fut le premier correspondant à Moscou pour le New York Times), et ayant écrit plusieurs livres sur ce pays. Ce fut long à lire, mais ce livre m'a permis d'enrichir ma connaissance générale sur l'histoire de la Russie et du communisme.

Review # 2 was written on 2012-08-23 00:00:00 Alena Fischi Awful. Radzinsky's one strong point is his access to the titular file, which enables him to reveal information not found in other accounts of Rasputin and the Romanovs. But he is not a good enough writer to handle the information; this is a clunky, unbearably boring book, full of characters who don't do anything and events that don't portend anything and prose that barely means anything. I don't know if his choppy, fragmented style is the result of something lost in translation, but this was painful to read. Skip this, and try something by Robert K. Massie.
