Review # 1 was written on 2016-11-29 00:00:00 Jason Millican Interesting bits and pieces but obscure I read this book hoping to learn more about political thought. In some ways the book was helpful and introduced me to some important thinkers, which are still influential today. However the book is dated, and the writing style was hard to follow. Furthermore the book seems to assume a certain level of familiarity with the mindset of various philosophers, with the author seeming to almost talk to himself about the various philosophies being discussed. |
Review # 2 was written on 2007-09-21 00:00:00 Dennis Donnelly Intellectual biography of Hobhouse, Hobson, Wallas, and the Hammonds that doubles as an overview of Liberals' thinking towards socialism and liberalism. |
