Review # 1 was written on 2017-12-31 00:00:00 George Bergstrom This was a text from a college course... something like math appreciation I think... and while this book is super, the instructor was really lame. Regardless of his incompetence this book really helped me understand math application to many real world situations. OK, no amoutn of education will ever get my brain working so I can do the math on paper, but I have used and still use math in my life all the time, and it was books like this that present math in a friendly way (with cartoons!) that helped me get there.

Review # 2 was written on 2011-09-18 00:00:00 Susan Purnell I think this book can be used to explain a lot of different math concepts. This book can be in a classroom as a resource for students, but I think that students would never pick this book up to read for fun because of it's dictionary like structure. This book also contained a lot of math history!
