When this one was offered, I was hesitant because, to be honest, science isn't regarded as important in our third grade classrooms and Science isn't my strong suit, but I knew I would learn from it! I learned several ways to have my students dig deep into investigation and observation and gain understanding from it. I also got very excited to "prove" to my fellow teachers that science inquiry is important and how literacy can be incorporated. I'm very glad I had the opportunity to read this book! I recommend it to any teacher wanting to learn more about how to break down the walls of excuses (time, space, testing, insecurities, etc) and spark a love of science in every child! |
