Review # 1 was written on 2011-12-29 00:00:00 Joseph Vendetti I will be using this book to learn more about using literature and the web. I enjoyed the many examples Allen Webb explores, such as reading and responding online, using it as a class activity, to teach literature and to go beyond the classroom using skype and virtual book clubs. I defintiely want to explore his chapter on podcasting and using other web 2.0 applications. The Chapter on 1984 and Brave New World will be shared with my teachers. A great resource of interest to me. |
Review # 2 was written on 2010-12-27 00:00:00 Geneva Karl Nothing new or too informative. They, basically, spend the entire book talking about how great their classroom practices are with little to no research to back anything up. In this day-and-age of teacher accountability, having research to back up some of the claims that the authors make would be nice. |
