Review # 1 was written on 2015-06-11 00:00:00 Kenneth Buchanan My rating of this book is not impartial, it is based on how valuable and of import it is to me as an accountant. For me I never imagined that accounting knowledge can relate to any other field, humanitarian or scientific. But in this book it introduces accounting into the realm of philosophy and linguistics, drawing comparisons and linking economic and social events with the development of accounting standards. In no way does it claim that there is an actual direct sequence of events between these accounting theory developments and history, it just emphasizes that accounting knowledge doesn't exist in seclusion. Accounting record has value, and as everything with value, various wills will try to force its way. And as such such accounting is never to still and is bound change, not as a signal of its end, but a signal of its value. |
Review # 2 was written on 2015-10-27 00:00:00 Leslie Manes This book is very interesting and so helpful. I like how chapters are brief and rich with examples, illustarations, solved examples and exercises. When necessary, some concepts are defined in more than one chapter. The book covers all topics of accounting, from basic level up to advanced and managerial level. I've read other books on accounting, but this one made accounting simpler than any other. |
