Review # 1 was written on 2013-04-20 00:00:00 David Bloom What a wonderful, wonderful, textbook. I must say, there is something particularly unique about this textbook on the complete history of the United States of America. 'MURICA. Disregard the fact that it is written in a derogatory tone. Disregard the fact that the author(s) of this textbook seems to have a problem writing in un-awkward English. Disregard the fact that I have slaved away over reading this wonderful piece of advanced-placement aka AP subject textbook for almost 10 months. I know, after reading The American People: Creating a Nation and a Society, that taking AP US history was most singularly, the best choice of my life. There is no doubt that I will look forward to reading this with optimistic enthusiasm sometime in the future, possible next year when I will willingly want to take APUSH all over again. Because that is what dedicated, US history-lovin' students do.

Review # 2 was written on 2012-09-04 00:00:00 Mike Kondi 3 stars because, well, I'm not quite sure how much you can "like" a history textbook that you have to read for school unless you love history. The beginning was a bit extremely boring, and I felt like things didn't pick up until about 4/5 the way through. The themes of the last couple chapters were all basically the same so extremely repetitive. Format wise, I liked the stories in the beginning of each chapter and the summaries of the themes of the decade that was being talked about. Timeline wise, it got kind of confusing, as sometimes the chapter went back and forth between presidents so I couldn't really keep straight which president did what and when.
