Review # 1 was written on 2020-12-05 00:00:00 Travis Sprague A delightful little tale that introduces everyones favourite park keeper. All the animals know the little hut where Percy lives, he's always willing to share his lunch with them. During a particular cold night the various animals ask to seek shelter to hilarious effect. The illustrations are so cute as poor Percy's bed starts to take the strain with each knock at the door. It's easy to see why this series has been delighted young readers for the last 30 years, the fold out poster at the back is a nice touch. |
Review # 2 was written on 2010-01-02 00:00:00 Keith Bradford Lots of fun to be had in this story about a grounds keeper (park ranger?) who opens his cottage one snowy night to a variety of animals who want shelter from the storm. It's so funny when they all try to fit into the bed and start to fall out--will there be a place for everyone??? (Of course there will!) I enjoyed the British aspects in this tale, too, such as when our gent puts on his Wellingtons and when the hedgehog shows up at the door ;-) The illustrations are very cute. |
