Brazouski, A., & Klatt, M. J. (1994). Children's books on ancient Greek and Roman mythology: An annotated bibliography. Westport, Conn: Greenwood Press. Citation by: Cheyanna Wickman Type of Reference: Bibliography Call Number: 292.13 Content/Scope: A book targeted towards students in the lower grades through middle school. This book is designed to help students find books on Ancient Greek and Roman Mythology. Something that is very popular among the middle school students. Contents include Greek and Roman mythology from the mid-19th century to the present. Accuracy/ Authority/ Bias: Greenwood publishers is an educational publisher that is also part of Libraries Unlimited. Which is a larger publishing company which has an online academic database that is more popular among libraries. Arrangement/ Presentation: The book is arranged beginning with an introduction about mythology and then a chapter about how mythology has been adapted for children. Following these two sections we have an annotated bibliography in alphabetical order about the different mythological works. Each annotation also contains a grade level so students and teachers will know if this book is appropriate for their students or for them myself. Relation to other works: There are a few mythological reference works for students at this age. This provides a comprehensive mythological view for both Greek and Roman cultures. As well as what books are appropriate for what grade levels making this book ideal for a middle school where there are multiple grade levels. Accessibility/ Diversity: Recently middle school students have become really interested in mythology through works like Percy Jackson. Having books like this at their hands will allow for students to read more about mythology. The language is non-biased towards any book or books in particular and would allow students to pick books based on what they think about them. Cost: $96.00 Professional Review: Booklist. (1994). Jugular and operatic, Kapovich's tome is one of upheaval and disparity told through the metrics of song with disarming sincerity. Intentionally (and mostly successfully) derivative, her vignettes channel Russias' stalwart canon in their descriptions of the post-Soviet/new Russian experience. An essential piece of identity poetics.
