This is an excellent overview of US constitutional law. It is useful for both legal practitioners and constitutional scholars. Although there is no substitute for reading the cases themselves, this volume provides the context that makes the cases intelligible, especially in those areas of constitutional law in which the reader might not already be expert. Of course, this hornbook and its supplements cannot keep up with the very latest US Supreme Court decisions, for which the researcher must consult the Supreme Court's slip opinions (available online at ).

Good but not great. I love history, but this felt missing. Bought it, quick read and returned. Not something I wanted to keep.
