Review # 1 was written on 2009-01-15 00:00:00 John Cameron This was a lovely book about friendship, responsibility, family and ethnic history. The dialect was a little difficult for the girls at first, but they managed. Our discussions centered around race vs. culture, friendship, assertiveness, and family history.

Review # 2 was written on 2007-09-11 00:00:00 Thomas Etheridge I first read this book when I was 8. The important messages still hold up and the shimmershine feeling is still the best feeling.
