The following is primarily about the second book, White Jenna. By all means, go ahead and read Sister Light, Sister Dark because it's better than the sequel. If this book was actually about the light and dark sisters it might've been better. There was such a big deal made about discovering your sister and blah blah blah, but once the shadow sister arrives she ends up being more like a shadow of a character (heh) than a real person. Jenna, the protagonist, is boring and her quest is even more so. I mean is it really a quest if you disappear in some weird Tom Bombadill type of place and years pass before you rejoin the real world? What's worse is that Jenna doesn't age or grow during that time, yet she continues her romance with the guy she met prior so he's aged while she's still fifteen. Weird. And disappointing. There's no character development or exciting plot movement. Of course all this happens in the second book. Sister Light, Sister Dark is much better.

I absolutely adored this book, so much so that I really didn't want it to end. I loved the concept, I loved the fact that the story itself was a clever read and, I was so emotionally invested in this book that I was actually sobbing in parts. This is a world that I had fun living in and felt that the book was a gift from the author.
