It contains lots of photographs, quotes, and excerpts from Gertrude's writing, that, when put together, tell the story of Gertrude's life. The author did a great job of choosing the important parts of Gertrude's writing where she revealed insight into her life. That being said, I really don't like Gertrude's writing style and was hoping for some more detached observer narrative, along with Gertrude's writing, to tell her life story. She kept fascinating company and I wanted to hear more stories about that, not in her own words. That's just my preference though, so if you are a big Stein fan and enjoy her writing, you'll like this. The pictures are great!
