I recommend this book to any PK (pastor's kid) or any pastor with kids who wants to have a better understanding of the issues their child will face because of their vocation. PKs are often treated differently to other children in the church. This book discusses why this is so and what that looks like for the PK. It includes lots of helpful tips for pastors and congregation members on how to treat PKs so that they don't end up resenting the church. A lot of PK voices are included here (disclaimer - I was one of the people surveyed) and I found this book very useful for understanding my own PK journey. Please note this is now available for FREE from the author's website as a PDF copy!!!

Engaging, well written narrative history of the 16-year legislative chess game that climaxed with the passage of the 1964 Civil Rights Act. Especially interesting because the architects of resistance, especially Richard Russell, are described as thoroughly as the proponents of change.
