Review # 1 was written on 2012-12-03 00:00:00 Robert Marino Combines (4) small books by McGrath, Understanding Doctrine, Understanding the Trinity, Understanding Jesus, and Justification by Faith. This is some of McGrath's better work. Written for lay people. Very accessible. Good solid stuff overall, though obviously, I would take issue with his understanding of Faith... Good stuff overall. Wish this book included McGrath's small volume _What was god doing on the Cross?_

Review # 2 was written on 2013-04-05 00:00:00 William Coates It is not, strictly speaking, true to say I have READ this book in its entirety--just the assignments for class. But that was most of it. I'm definitely keeping it as a reference for the future--McGrath explains the various doctrines he sets out to describe with clarity and good sense.
