Review # 1 was written on 2015-10-05 00:00:00 Adam Patek This book is unbelievably cool because it uses actual data from landmark ecological experiments as examples of each stochastic model type. Like Huffaker's mites where you put two types of mites (one predator and one prey species) on oranges and depending on how many oranges you use, you can seem multiple population oscillations before the system crashes. I could be learning the same mathematics from boring engineering texts about light-bulb failures and web-server statistics. I'll stick with birds and mites, thank you very much!

Review # 2 was written on 2014-02-03 00:00:00 Tara Hilferty Why a four-star book and a wall-banger? Hmm...could it be the ending? The book was great up until the last part where.... Spoilers............................................ The hero and heroine do not get together! She travels back to her time while he spends the rest of his life alone! She meets the hero's "soul in another body" on the plane home after she is sent to the present. Supposedly, the hero's soul found hers. Baloney! Sorry, you cannot substitute another person for the actual hero! Such a depressing and horrible ending. Ugggghhh! See Kiss of the Highlander by Karen Marie Moning as an example of how to make this scenario turn out with an HEA!
