This book reads, as promised: "a do-it-yourself kit for nonprofits" creating employee handbooks. One aspect I particularly like is how for each sample policy or section of a handbook, the author presents three separate versions of how to design or just word the policy for three different styles and scales of nonprofits: 1) The Creative Approach 2) the By The Book Approach and 3) the Leading Edge Approach. While I doubt any one organization will adopt all aspects of any one of these styles, it is very helpful to see the different perspectives on how there are several "right" ways to develop policies and procedures. Unfortunately, the electronic versions of the samples are provided on a 3.5 disk. However, full text of each seems to be printed in the book as well.

This is alright. The book is only about 100 pages. The book appendix is just a set of pre-made surveys one can use, presented in very redundant format.
