Review # 1 was written on 2020-10-17 00:00:00 Manny Cee I saw the movie first and then reading the book clarified a lot of things for me that weren't clear. The main character lives in a society were they pull lotteries and a boy and girl between the ages of 12 and 18 are selected from each district to fight to their deaths. The 12 year old sister was chosen and 16 year old Katnis volunteered to take her place. A lot of suspense in the playing of the hunger game but what bothered me the most was how this is so parellel with our "reality TV shows".
