The forces of chaos are strong in the works of Richard Scarry, but in this volume they are so strong to the point of total annihilation and despair. I keep trying to hide it so I don't have to read it aloud again, but I may just have to get rid of it.

The firefighters at the station have a very busy day. The painters Drippy and Sticky are trying to paint the firehouse. Trouble happens when the drop cloth falls off the fire truck and paint spills all over the fire truck and stains the fire fighters gear. This doesn't stop the firefighters from responding to different calls while Drippy and Sticky try to solve the painting mess problem. The problems continue when the fire fighters return and the floor is all wet. More problems happen but don't want to tell you the ending. The action words are great for supporting vocabulary! The story gives many facts about being a real life firefighter within the story. The action words are great too!! Crunch..swish..sploosh...splash...The character's are adorable and lots of humor for all ages to read.
