Review # 1 was written on 2010-10-15 00:00:00 Helen Terry A book of essays by a variety of people with some knowledge or expertise relating to art and architecture from different countries from that region, so a mixed bag as you would expect. My favourites were those that described artists from a biographical as well as technical art perspectives, such as Leonora Carrington, Dr Atl, Hector Hypolite, and the various groups that sprang up after European sojourns and political milieu. The section on architecture was also interesting and well written. |
