Review # 1 was written on 2010-05-10 00:00:00 Cameron Goodwin Make it 4. It is a unique book and one that integrates a number of approaches to El Pedregal, not just architecture. Eggener also introduces aspects of Barragan's personality showing him as more human than the Pritzker winner's usual contexts- artist, aesthetician and spiritual being. I also enjoyed seeing Barragan in the context of his times and the circumstances and people he encountered in midcentury Mexico.

Review # 2 was written on 2013-02-03 00:00:00 Dan Kliber One of the most important narratives for urban design and community-mindedness this millennium has to offer! I recommend first reading a version without gazing upon the images, and then to read it again with the images in perspective.
