A well-written book with a familiar gallery of rogues that gave context to my past 15 years of dabbling in internet governance. Somehow not many things have changed since the 1990s, and in other ways it is of course entirely different now. I predict that a good many of the people I interact with on a daily basis will say that the technical descriptions in this book have since been outdated (although not as much as they would like to believe, perhaps), but the political problems described in this book are re-emerging with strength. Both China, Russia and the European Union are re-questioning the American hegemony that was established through the political agreements around ICANN, and this is a challenge for an increasingly isolationist US. I now have a better framework within which to place Mr Mueller's continued commitment to a global internet and why he lands where he does - for which I am grateful and also happy.

Excellent book about innovation history and how global breakthrough technologies gasps into the turmoils of politics, business and governance.
