I read pages 10-23 for a class assignment. Terborg-Penn delves into the woman suffrage movement while critically acknowledging how Black women and men both fit into the quest for the right to vote. Terborg-Penn also provides reasoning for her research methods and presents her readers with opportunities to make connections and ask questions about racism and sexism.

This is pretty dry and academic for reading during a pandemic. I highly recommend Lifting as We Climb by Evette Dionne--and yes, I know, it's a kid's book.
