Review # 1 was written on 2020-06-30 00:00:00 Ronald Retsch This book was an interesting read. The author does a very good job in writing his idea in a way that is easy to understand and follow. He also knows how to keep your interest and get you to keep reading till the end. What I got out of the first half of the book is that the author is in love with ETF's. I do agree with him on some points regarding that investment vehicle like how it's safer to buy an ETF that focuses on a country instead of taking a risk and buying a single stock or two from a country. It hasn't completely sold me on ETF's but I can see why people like them. The other half of the book you meet the author's second love, Asia. Sure, it was hinted at in the first half but in the second half we finally have confirmation. All jokes aside, I do agree with him that China will become an economic powerhouse as we're already seeing it today. He explains why he believes this very well. But of course, with the good comes the bad. Or in this case, the annoying. In almost every chapter, excluding the last one, the author keeps saying "I'll explain this in the next chapter." or "This will be explained in chapter insert number." It gets very tiring reading that for about 8 chapters. Other than that I find that I enjoyed reading this book. I bought it for ideas for different investments and it did it's job. Even for a 12 year old book I would still recommend it for sure.
