Review # 1 was written on 2021-02-05 00:00:00 Ashley Polumbo wow, this book is so epic, it makes me so happy just thinking about it this is probably the best textbook on the history of ideas in existence, and yet despite being a textbook, there is lively first-person erotic poetry that is drier than this this book is so 'wet' it might as well have just come off a waterslide, and then water-slid right into my arms so I can read another chapter. 6/5 |
Review # 2 was written on 2016-01-18 00:00:00 TONY FRANCIS Very good. Essays were evenly matched, with the curious exception of the Bodin chapter by Julian Franklin. It's not that it was a bad essay: it's that it wasn't a history essay. The rest were all by historians of political thought, and their method was, on the whole, quite sound. |
