Review # 1 was written on 2012-09-20 00:00:00 Megan Markless This is a significant contribution in the scholarship of Muslim African Americans, particularly regarding their history. It provides signficant evidence for the many roles they played throughout enslavement and beyond -- making a way out of no way and trying desperately to hold onto their way of life. |
Review # 2 was written on 2020-06-09 00:00:00 Sue Wellings I guess I was expecting something more centric to African religions that are indigenous to Africa. The book gets there, but it takes awhile. Good history and information. |
