Review # 2 was written on 2009-06-11 00:00:00 Scott Mayes I obviously didn't read all of this in just a few short days. I skimmed some. Read deeply a little. Mainly, I got a better idea of the importance of Rahner. I will likely come back to works similar to this one by Rahner. I found a lot of this one difficult to read. But it isn't one cohesive work. It's basically a bunch of essays. His notes on Christology, Barth and poetry are obviously significant. I will attempt a deeper reading of other Rahner books that are a little easier on the senses until I am more familiar and learned. He has many theological conversations and I wasn't always sure of what people had said and what the historical arguments were. This was a library book and I am just trying to get a big sampling of differing voices which aren't 'Evangelical.' I find we get too comfortable within our own lanes, when we have so much to learn from others who think different than us. |
